Maqiao Culture, a type of culture in the early Bronze Age about 3000 ~ 3300 years ago, is represented by the fourth stratum of the Maqiao Site discovered at east Maqiao town, Minghang district, Shanghai. In a same period as the middle and late Shang dynasty in the Central Plains, it was originated from the Liangzhu Culture and developed with absorption of some other cultures. Impressed potteries with geometric patterns are the characteristics of the culture.
